For 1968, in the South of India, an utopian town develops and attracts
inhabitants of all countries of the world.
Auroville is an ambitious experience, a kind of laboratory from where will perhaps
come out the ideal town of the future.
Founded by a Frenchwoman, Mira Alfassa, known as "the Mother", companion of the
yogi Sri Aurobindo, close to Pondichéry,
Auroville is a space of dreams where the goal is "to realize Human
Unity".
Regrouping more than 1 800 persons of 40 different nationalities, this project
is supported for his beginnings by the UNESCO and the Indian
government.
But to manage a such enterprise is not easy and the community must
face up to crises, notably the one provoked by the implantation of new
generations with different motivations of those who have preceded them.
Thanks to many accounts of residents of Auroville, this surprising documentary absorbs us at the heart of an utopia that we would love to see it materialized, in spite of difficulties.
A kind of hope for our selfish societies.
